The London Youth Games 2015 - Richmond Football team trials open - please apply individually

I received the email below - Mairead managed to sum up nicely what it is about: Richmond is putting together an U14 girls football squad to take part in the London Youth games and the trials will be on 13th and 20th May with weekly training for those selected.  The games will take place (for the U14 Richmond Girls’ squad) on Sunday 5th July.  Any of our girls who are interested will need to apply for the trials individually.

The London Youth Games 2015 began back in November 2014 with the Cross Country competition and Team Richmond are currently in first place in the Jubilee Trophy standings. 

I am emailing to inform you, that in July, Richmond will be competing in the Football Tournament at the London Youth Games, taking place at the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre. I thought that you and your team may be interested to know that the online application form for 2015 has now gone live and can be viewed by going towww.richmond.gov.uk/londonyouthgames.

The trials for the Football Team(s) will be taking place in May, so it is important to sign up early to secure your place at the trials.

Details are listed below-

Mini Football Trials (Must be born between 01/09/03 - 31/08/05)- Trials on Wednesday 13th and Wednesday 20th May, both at 5pm until 6pm.

Boys Football Trials (Must be born between 01/09/00 - 31/08/02)- Trials on Wednesday 13th and Wednesday 20th May, both at 6pm until 7pm.

Girls Football Trials (Must be born between 01/09/00 - 31/08/02)- Trials on Wednesday 13th and Wednesday 20th May, both at 6pm until 7pm.

Participants will most likely be in Years 8 & 9 and must live or go to school in the Richmond Borough.


All of these trials will be taking place at Lincoln Field, Percy Road, Whitton, TW2 6JW.

If selected for the final squad, weekly training sessions will take place every Wednesday 6-7pm at Lincoln Field.


Each final squad will compete over the finals weekend at the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre on the following dates-

Mini Football Finals – Thursday 2nd July.

Boys Football Finals – Saturday 4th July.

Girls Football Finals – Sunday 5th July.


If any of your players, or anyone you may know, may be interested in trialling for one of the Football teams, or any other sports on offer, please would you kindly forward this email onto them, or let them know that they can find more details and sign up at www.richmond.gov.uk/londonyouthgames and I will be in touch with them directly.

Please find attached relevant posters for each of the trials and if you could kindly display these at your club it would be greatly appreciated.
