This sunday (20th) it's at home vs the cougars of Woking!

How heart breaking to hear that the girls managed to hold on to a lead for the entire game and lost in 60 seconds! As I said this year is going to be one of this league where every game counts and we need to be 100% focused throughout the games – hardly any down time. I tend to think that we are our worst enemy on the pitch and we are one of the strongest team there (beside maybe Barnes FC) however we give the ball away too much and we fail to finish on the great movement and attack we create for ourselves, some points on what needs to be improved upon:
 • 1st touch (also known as control) : if the control is badly done, the ball is lost to opposition – imagine the damage when it’s done in our defence zone (few goals have been scored against us because of that), imagine the waste when it’s done on the break in the opposition’s box...etc... This is one video they can look at and practise on in their own time :http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r3D6-8Zrk7w
• Finishing touch: that’s when the conviction comes – conviction/confidence comes with training and with trying... we will practice that more, but again the girls have to practice on their own too.
• Bounce: anticipation of the ball is to be addressed – for now we need to catch/control the ball BEFORE the bounce – that goes for the goal keep too
• Pass back to centre defenders : Don’t do it – simple . Clear the lines by going out wide to the side lines.

Rome wasn’t build in a day....... Onwards now and we keep our chin up – resilience is key and let’s remember that we are also doing this for fun (mainly). This week we are at home 10am KO vs Woking Cougars – they are just above us but holding on to 3rd spot by a thread. Meet at 9am SHARP for warm up
